2007 Mystery Quilt

Welcome to the Tri-County Quilt Guild's First Annual Mystery Quilt!

The blocks for this qult will be announced once a month, here and in the newsletter, and by the end of the year, you will have a completed, full-size quilt top. The blocks will all be flower-type blocks, and some will be traditionally pieced, while others will be paper-pieced. They will vary in size, but will all fit together with setting squares. Border and setting square information will be given out when the time comes.

At the end of the year, all the participants will be able to show our tops or finished quilts, (for the over-achievers among us), and be amazed at the different effects we've achieved. I can hardly wait!

Fabrics: I'll be showing the blocks as done in 30's reproduction fabrics, but you may choose to do yours in brights, small-scale florals, tone-on-tones, batiks, or even Civil War repros. The choice is yours! Each month's block will use less than a FQ, so you could conceivably make the top entirely from your stash. If you'd like all the backgrounds to match, you'll need about 3 yds total. And don't limit yourself to a light background: think how dramatic your bright-colored blocks would look on black!

A huge thank you to Marcia Hohn and her website Quilter's Cache for the use of her patterns and directions.

If you have any questions (except for, "Can I see a picture of the finished quilt?"), please contact me by clicking here: Lisa, Help!

Good luck!
