Important note on meeting structure:
In
order to use our time together efficiently, the board has decided to adopt some
guidelines as it relates to timing. Here is the basic agenda:
7:00-7:15 Announcements
7:15-7:45 Show & Tell
7:45-8:00 Break
8:00-8:45 Speaker
8:45-9:00 Door Prizes, BOM, Fabric Exchange
9:00 Adjourn
Now - and here's the important part - the front doors will be closed (they self-lock) at 6:55 sharp, and all members will be asked to move into the auditorium. This will allow the various board members and committee heads to also get into the meeting on time.
Come as early as 6:30 and you'll have plenty of time to sign in, browse the library and magazine selections, sign up for Show & Tell, check out the current raffle item, sign up for a workshop, turn in your BOM's and fabric exchanges, and let's see...what else...oh yeah...visit! And be sure to look for visitors and show them around, too! See how much there is to get done before the meeting even starts? It all takes time...so come early and avoid the rush!
Visiting? We'll have members at the sign-in table who will be happy to take you around and show you the ropes. We want you to feel at home!
Members: Adopt a visitor! Come by the Sign-in or Nametag Tables and offer to take a visitor around to the various areas of the guild (Show & Tell sign-in, raffle ticket purchase, workshop sign ups, BOM and Fabric Exchange areas, Library, etc). Or, if you see someone with a handwritten nametag, introduce yourself and show them the ropes. We want to build and keep our reputation for being the friendliest guild in town!
Nametags: The Hospitality committee provides the official guild nametags, and will have them laid out prior to each meeting. They request that you drop off your nametags in the foyer as you leave the meeting, so that the chances of forgetting them at home are minimized.
Speakers: Want to know what speakers or special events are on the calendar? Check the "Events" page!
Library: Take a peek at the guild library before the meeting - there's tons of quilting magazines for sale, at 25¢ apiece, and you can take a look at the guild's booklist and reserve a book or two for the following meeting. The Library will be located at the front of the sanctuary, where you can peruse the booklist & magazines before the meeting and during the break. See the Library page for a complete listing (with photos) of all of the guild's books.
Charity Kits: Every month the Charity Bee will have a selection of projects in various stages of completion for you to work on. Some are basic kits that need to be pieced; some just need a border added; some are waiting to be quilted or tied; and some just need binding. Any little bit that you can do would be greatly appreciated. Come see what's available at the next meeting - they'll be at the front of the sanctuary.

Door prizes at every meeting!
You will receive a ticket if you:
1) Walk in the door
2) Bring a quilt for Show & Tell (1 per quilt - bring 2, you get 2 tickets!)
3) Bring canned goods for the church's pantry
4) Donate a book or video to the guild library (1 per book - bring 2, you get 2 tickets!)
5) Take one of the Charity Bee's kits or quilts to finish, or bring back a finished quilt and receive a door prize ticket from Diana Fererro
A big thank you to the door prize donors of our July meeting:
Bonnie Blue Quilts
If you were one of the lucky winners, we ask that you bring an appropriate door prize to the next meeting. Or if the door prize you received wasn't your cup of tea, bring it on back and we'll put it back in circulation! Just leave it at the sign-in table and we'll do the rest.
