Quilts - Food Pantry
Originally called the DePelchin Faith Home, the DePelchin Children's Center was founded in 1892 by Kezia Payne DePelchin, after arranging for the care of three orphaned babies. Since that time, it has grown into a superb, multi-service agency with several facilities ranging from foster care to adoptions. In addition, they have a home for pregnant teens and a variety of counseling programs. In fact, DePelchin now offers more programs for children, teens, and families than any other agency in the Houston area.
As a Guild, we will be focusing on what we do best: making quilts to be given to the Foster Care Program at DePelchin. many times, the children bring nothing with them but the clothes on their backs. It would be wonderful if each was able to at least have a quilt to call his or her own.
Visit DePelchin's website for more information on the outstanding work they do.
Quilts!
Ways
you can help:
Finished
quilts, sized from approximately 42"x42" - 48"x72"
And don't forget the older kids, teen boys especially...plaids, Nascar, etc.
Quilt tops ready to be quilted, above sizes
Additionally, the Charity Quilts Committee suggests that each member consider making it a goal to donate one quilt top or finished quilt in their birthday month. Very easy and doable, and we can each be a part of making a child's life a little more comfortable.
Bring your tops and/or quilts to the guild meetings and give them to Diana Fererro, our Charity Quilts Committee Head. And as a bonus, anyone who signs out one of the Charity Bee's kits to finish or who brings back a finished quilt, will receive a door prize ticket!
For information on how you can help, please contact Diana Fererro
The Charity Bee will be happy to take any UFO's, orphan blocks, batting, bright-colored, cheery fabrics, and even some plaids, etc., for the older boys. Take a look at the Bee page for more info.

Food Pantry

As part of our agreement with Fairfield Baptist Church, we're collecting canned and non-perishable foods for Cypress Assistance Ministries.
Multi-pack items (like from Sam's or Costco) are always needed, including any extra pantry staples you might have on hand. Click on CAM's name above and learn more about the incredible work they do.
